The Bakery of Goulburn

On a trip down to Canberra, we stopped off to admire the Big Merino, and of course, couldn’t resist the allure of pies from The Bakery of Goulburn!

Food:
We all wanted to try the famous Apple Pie, so we bought 4 to share, some with cream and some without! They were delicious, with the right amount of sweetness of the apple filling. The pastry was also amazing – fluffy and flaky and crumbled beautifully. Each pie was also topped with strawberry, which cut through the sweetness, although we did share the pies, and eating a whole one would probably have been too much.

Ambience:
Service was a little slow as there was a queue, but the pies were brought out to us on takeaway plates and cutlery, which is to be expected for a small bakery. There was ample seating for our large group, and parking is available across the road in the lot near the petrol station and Big Merino. Items can be easily taken away as well, and are placed into a box to ensure that they are kept safe.

Overall:
For a quick sweet treat on the drive down to Canberra, The Bakery of Goulburn is a must visit. Excellent value and delicious to beat, it was a great experience!
