For a brunch brekky and catchup, we both wanted to try an amazing cafe in Strathfield, so after a lot of Instagram stalking, we went to Chef’s Palette!
I chose the big breakfast, which came with two hash browns, avocado, sauteed mushrooms, sourdough bread, a chorizo sausage and baked tomato. It also usually comes with bacon but i ordered mine without! It was so tasty – the hash browns perfectly crispy and the sausage well cooked. It was nice to have fresh avocado on the plate as well, and the bread was delicious. The only thing I didn’t like was the tomato, but that comes down to personal preference more than anything.
My friend had the beans on toast, and found that really delicious! Both dishes were also really nicely presented and looked great on the plate. For dessert, I got a blueberry pannacotta jar, which was so pretty, and had blueberries and flowers adorning the top, then a layer of orange jelly, pannacotta, blueberry jam and more sweet pannacotta. It was melt-in-your-mouth delicious, and since I have a sweet tooth I didn’t mind the sugary taste at all!
It took a while to get table service and in the end I went over to the counter to order, so that was a little bit of a let down. The interior is really nicely decorated, and adorned with sewing machines and other vintage trinkets. We sat at the back and there was a little window into the kitchen, which was super exciting to see how the dishes were being made!
I really enjoyed our food adventure, and we found it so hard to decide on just one breakfast thing to order! I’ll definitely be back to try their pancakes and gnocchi, which both looked amazing.
