In search of an eatery in the newly revamped Westfield Miranda, we stumbled upon the Kingsway Terrace, which is a beautiful garden courtyard that houses the Thai restaurant, Charm Kitchen.
We ordered two items off the lunch special menu – the Pad Siew with beef, egg and Chinese broccoli, complemented by flat rice noodles, and the Beef, Thai Basil. Both portions were really generous, and perfect for sharing. The Pad Siew was much sweeter than other versions of the dish I’ve had before, but the beef was perfectly cooked and the noodles were firm and flavoursome. The Beef, Thai Basil, which came with beans, bamboo shoots, chilli and a serving of rice, was very spicy, and the flavours were strong, but the portion of bamboo shoots could be reduced.
The courtyard was so lovely on a warm day, and we sat near the window, which gave us a view of all the restaurants and greenery. Service was quick, as most of the tables were empty, but it was a weekday lunch, and the restaurant was very nicely decorated, with colourful cushions and ample seating.
Charm Kitchen is worth a try for authentic Thai cuisine, and we’ll definitely be back to the Kingsway Terrace to sample some of the other amazing restaurants that have opened in this unique spot!
