On a lovely and sunny day, we caught the bus from uni down to Coogee beach, ready to soak up some rays and enjoy some delicious burgers at Moo Gourmet Burgers!
We each opted for the student special, which was $10 for the Classic Beef and a side of chips. I decided to get the Classic Cheese instead, and just paid the difference, which was great! It was slightly underwhelming though, and we found it to be quite dry and difficult to eat. I expected the meat to be a bit more tender and for the patty to be the star, but the tomato, lettuce and mayo overwhelmed the tomato relish and patty. The others were satisfied with their burgers, but didn’t feel they were particularly exceptional.
The real highlight though was the Mad Cow moo shake, which contains oreo biscuits, chocolate and vanilla syrup, along with a few healthy dollops of ice cream. It was absolutely divine, with just the right amount of sweetness, and the cookie flavour really came through. A perfectly refreshing treat for a hot day!
The gentleman serving us was very patient as we all selected what we wanted, and speedily made our milkshakes as we waited for the burger. It took some time to be made, but it was nice to sit in the interior of the restaurant, which has ample seating, and polaroids of guests cover one of the walls, which was quite a cool touch. We even got some free takeaway tomato sauce to have with our chips, which was great, and we enjoyed our burgers outside on the beach!
While we wouldn’t be back for the burgers, the Mad Cow milkshake is such a highlight! It’s probably one of the best milkshakes I’ve ever had, and absolutely so more-ish, so definitely give Moo Burger’s shakes a try if you’re around any of the beaches!
