After an exciting lunch, we popped into Oliver Brown at Rhodes for a quick dessert. Despite having stores all across Sydney, this was my first time actually trying Oliver Brown, so I was very interested to see what it would taste like.
When looking at the menu, we were conflicted between trying the waffles with ice-cream, or the melted chocolate with fresh strawberries, with both sounding quite amazing! In the end, we compromised in the middle – we had the Belgian waffles with ice-cream, and an added side of strawberries.
The waffle was very fluffy and light, and was drizzled with a hot chocolate sauce. When it was eaten together with the ice-cream, it almost melted in the mouth, to create a rather incredible taste. The strawberries were also very fresh, with enough chocolate sauce to allow them to be dipped into.
The interior was quite nice, with a ‘woody’ look to it. There are plenty of seats available, both inside and out, and the service was quite fast and friendly. Finally, the presentation of the desserts are definitely Instagram-able so that is always a plus.
If you are looking for a delicious dessert, definitely give Oliver Brown a try. The waffles were definitely a good choice, and next time, I want to try something a bit more exotic on their menu.
