For a quick and clean lunch after uni, we headed to Westfield Bondi Junction and decided to try Ryu, a sushi train on the top level.
We arrived fairly late, so there wasn’t a lot of variety, but all of our favourites were on the train, so we picked 5 dishes! I had the Salmon and Avocado with both white and black rice. The white rice variety was delicious and had plenty of fillings, but the black rice variety was so tasty, as it was freshly made, and the rice was more flavoursome.
I also tried a piece of Chicken Teriyaki and Avocado sushi, which was very tasty as well! My friend ordered the Tuna and Avocado, and a California Roll. He really enjoyed the tuna variety, but the California Roll wasn’t a hit as it was spicy and the fillings weren’t as good as expected.
There was plenty of seating and it was easy to pick our dishes and get straight into eating them! However, it took a while to get the bill, and eventually we gave up and went to the counter to pay. One dish that was missing since we came so late was the fresh salmon sashimi, so I would’ve liked to try that!
If you’re looking for value for money and tasty sushi, Ryu is a great addition to the Bondi Junction dining scene! We enjoyed our light meal, and will definitely be back at the start of the lunch hour to try different varieties!
