The Choc Pot

The Choc Pot’s beautifully presented desserts are a favourite with foodies and Instagrammers everywhere, so we were excited for the opportunity to try their sweet treats for ourselves at their Chatswood store!

Food:
I chose to try the red velvet hot chocolate, which sounded decadent and creative, and the strawberry field waffles, as I can’t resist a good chocolate drizzle on warm waffles! All of The Choc Pot’s desserts are freshly made to order from scratch, and the waffles were no exception. They came out to our table piping hot, and there was a generous sprinkling of strawberries, and of course, rich melted chocolate.

The waffles were soft and fluffy, and a great base to the sweet chocolate, with the freshness of the strawberries cutting through the richness. The hot chocolate was rich and thick, with a tiny dollop of cream cheese on the side to soften the darkly chocolate texture – it was a real treat.

My friend ordered the famous Choc Pot, which was oozing with melted chocolate and beautifully presented with a duo of fresh strawberries. It was so delicious, the cake portion sweet and crumbly, and the melted chocolate smooth, melting in your mouth with each bite. It was a great dish to share, as it was nice to have a little taste, and could comfortably be finished by two people!

This was complemented by a more refreshing and light drink, the Pine Mojito, which was a pineapple drink blended with fresh mint, lime and ice. For next time, we’d definitely order a drink like this to complement our sweet treats, because it cut through the sweetness of the desserts and was a great palette cleanser!

Ambience:
The Choc Pot is located in the new dining area within the Chatswood interchange, making it perfect for a post-lunch or dinner dessert, and is really convenient to find. The meals do take some time to prepare, as they’re all freshly made, but it’s well worth the wait! There is ample seating, and nice long tables for big groups, with great lighting for that perfect Instagram shot as well!

Overall:
We were left with a satisfied chocolate coma after sampling The Choc Pot’s exquisite creations! It was so difficult to pick what to have, and we’ll definitely be back to try more of their amazing menu items, and seasonal specials like the Pavlova as well!

Note: Khana dined as a guest of The Choc Pot and Sydney PR.
