After receiving a Zomato voucher for Ramen Ikkuyu in the Sussex Street Centre, we were so excited to take a group of friends and try their different ramen varieties!
I ordered the Pork Rib and Cha-Shu variety, which was lovely and mild. The thick broth was richly flavoured by the pork, and the noodles were plentiful and very soft. I particularly liked the egg, as it was slightly gooey on the inside, but well cooked on the outside, and so tasty! The meat was also very thinly sliced, and perfectly tender.
I also had some of the gyoza, which was a great snack to accompany the ramen bowls, but a little bland for my liking. Around the table, everyone thoroughly enjoyed their dishes, finding each of them to have a good amount of noodles, with tasty and perfectly sliced meat, and well cooked egg. The spicier variety was also a hit, and our friend suggested that a bit more heat to the dish would’ve make it perfect!
Ramen Ikkuyu is slightly difficult to find, as it’s tucked up in the back corner, so make sure you walk right to the end of the food court! There is ample seating for large groups, and we received our food so quickly, with one of the chefs happily giving us recommendations based on our preference for a spicy or less hot variety.
For a quick, tasty, and value for money lunch if you’re in the Chinatown area, Ramen Ikkuyu is not to be missed! The Pork Rib and Cha-Shu variety is a real masterpiece, and all of their menu items were super delicious!
Note: Khana dined as a guest of Ramen Ikkuyu and Zomato.
