Gelbison Pizzeria Ristorante

For a post-exam submission celebratory feed, we headed to Bondi Beach, as despite the cloudy weather, good Italian food was beckoning at Gelibson!

Food:
We started with a serve of garlic bread, which was buttery and very flavoursome, and served on crusty ciabatta bread! I ordered the Fettuccine Boscaiola, which was cooked in a cream sauce with mushrooms and ham. It was absolutely delicious, and lovely and rich, with large pieces of ham and deliciously tender mushrooms. I was glad I opted for the entree size though, as it was quite a generous serve, so their items are perfect for sharing.

I also tried some of the Ham and Pineapple pizza, which had the perfect crispy base characteristic of the woodfire oven, and some of the sweetest pieces of pineapple we’ve ever tasted! It was absolutely delicious and so more-ish, and the smell of pizza tantalised us as we waited for our food so we were so glad it lived up to the hype!

Ambience:
The restaurant is small and cosy, with seating both outside and inside, and a very relaxed feel. It took a while to get a table, but the food was prepared fairly fast, which was excellent as we were starving! There is a very expansive selection of both pizza and pasta options on the menu, and pizzas come in a smaller size as well, perfect for a lighter meal.

Overall:
We were thoroughly impressed with our meal and really enjoyed the authentic Italian cuisine on offer at Gelbison. Above all, the location is fantastic, and on a nicer day, an after-meal stroll would be an absolute must!
