Deus Cafe

Pub Life Kitchen and Barrio have collaborated to create the ultimate burger joint hidden in Deus Café on Parramatta Road, so after seeing rave reviews on the Fatties Burger Appreciation Society page, we stopped by to grab one of their creations and check it out!

Food:
We started off with a set of their dirty fries, which for $7, comes with a drizzle of tangy cheese sauce and aioli on the top. The fries were so crispy, and while the aioli was slightly too creamy for us, dipping the fries into the spiced cheese sauce was such a delicious experience that we kept going back for more! Deus is extravagant and proud of it and whilst we might not be 100% confident that these fries would have a positive effect on our health, they definitely had a positive effect on our happiness.

We then tried their famous double cheeseburger – a monster of a burger with a soft milk bun, delicious patty, salad and cheese oozing out of the sides to top it off. I personally thought that this was one of the best burgers I have ever tasted and would definitely recommend this for any burger lover! We asked for it cooked medium (the other option being ‘burnt’ = well done), and the meat was perfectly soft, juicy and delicious. The salads inside the burger complemented the flavour of the patty wonderfully and the buns were soft enough to be almost melt in your hands.

Ambience:
As soon as you walk through the Deus Café doors, you’re greeted by an amazing array of motorbikes scattered around the café floor. Edgy artworks adorn the walls, and the menu is chalked up on the back of the counter. The range is limited, but all the essentials are there – drinks, chips and of course, their famous burgers, including both the cheeseburger and chicken burger options, and even a veggie burger too.

We loved the overall atmosphere and vibe, with casual tunes in the background, and ample seating at large communal tables in what is a very open and airy space. Service was very fast, although we beat the lunch rush and came a little later, and we happily tucked in to the chips, which came first, as an appetiser to our burgers.

Overall:
I thoroughly enjoyed the amazing burgers at Deus Café’s popup, and you absolutely have to order a serve of their fries with sauce, because together, they formed the perfect burger meal. The café definitely lived up to the hype on the FBAS page, so be sure to check them out, and let us know what you think!
