For the second stop on our Rhodes Waterside x Zomato food tour, we were transported to the streets of Turkey for some authentic Gozleme at Gozleme King!
We tried three different types of savory Gozleme – the Lamb, the Spicy Potato and the Peri Peri Chicken. While all three were amazing, my favourite by far was the spicy potato, as it was unlike anything I’ve eaten before, and had a good kick of chilli to it. The lamb is great as a milder option, with just as much flavour and taste.
Finally, we finished the meal with the Nutella Gozleme – the sweet, melted chocolate interior won us all over (I’ve been craving it ever since!) They also have a great variety of unique baklava, including Cherry Ripe, Bounty and Triple Chocolate varieties, so if you want a slightly smaller dessert, definitely grab one of these sweet treats after your Gozleme.
Ozzy, the owner, introduced us to the cuisine and told us how his gozleme are unique in both flavour selection and creation, with a thin, flaky pastry that melts in the mouth. He also told us about the vivid tiling and decor, which had been specially imported to kit out the restaurant, making for a stunning display. We saw each gozleme being freshly assembled and made, which allows you to customise your order if you wish – a great personal touch that adds to the quality of the snacks.
Gozleme King’s fresh, made to order Gozleme are such a delicious and filling snack, and my personal favourite is the Spicy Potato – this is a unique blend that you won’t find anywhere else! Being right next door, it’s a great snack to take with you to the cinema as well, so give it a try and let us know what you think.
Note: Khana dined as a guest of Rhodes Waterside, Gozleme King and Zomato. Thanks so much to Naomi and Raj for organising the visit!
