Our fourth food stop on the Rhodes Waterside x Zomato food tour was Smokkim – a delicious Korean BBQ venue with an amazing selection of meat that you can grill yourself!
We had a few dishes to share for the table, and of course, some BBQ meat as well. The highlight for me was the wagyu, as all of the cuts were so tender, juicy and well marinated, and I enjoyed the experience of watching them being cooked. The bulgogi was also very delicious (but quite spicy!) and I enjoyed the side sauces that went along with the BBQ meat too!
The concept of Korean BBQ is great – it allows you to get involved in cooking your own food, which is so much fun! Avoid overcooking the meat – it’s best eaten on the medium to rare side. The staff are lovely and friendly, and happy to assist you and show you how the meat should be cooked and what it should be eaten with. Don’t be deterred if you’re looking for a vegetarian option, as they have great salads or noodles that can be made vegetarian as well, which looked really yum!
The delicious smells that often waft out of Smokkim as you walk past are a great indication of the excellent food to be found within! Try the Korean BBQ concept for yourself – it’s such a fun experience with a small group of friends, and a great way to share a meal.
Note: Khana dined as a guest of Rhodes Waterside, Zomato and Smokkim. Thanks to Naomi and Raj for organising the visit!
