The Piano Lounge

The Grace Hotel, at the heart of York Street, is known for its amazing themed buffets. The recently opened Piano Lounge complements this expertise, boasting an impressive selection of champagne, drinks, cheeses and meats sourced by their expert head chef!

Food and Drinks:
We sampled some of their amazing champagne as we tried their delicious share plates. First up was the cheeseboard, which showcased the LeRustique Brie, a creamy and melt-in-your-mouth cheese that has a delicate flavour behind it. I also really enjoyed the Mahon Curado hard cheese, which had a very strong, powerful flavour and presented a nice textural contrast to the soft brie. For blue cheese lovers, there is the Milawa Blue, which was pungent and rich.

We then tried some of Boquerones by Don Bocarte, a white anchovy that initially left us apprehensive. The taste, however, was unparalleled – it was a very mild but buttery flavour that was easy eating, and perfectly complemented by the slight kick of the fennel and guindillas chilli.

Finally, we tucked into the Charcuterie Board, and loved the Losada Cuquillo Olives, Jamon Iberico and La Boqueria Pamplona salami, which were all a great complement to the cheeses. There are also cracker and nut bar snacks with a delicious spicy kick, so be sure to try some of those as well!

Ambience:
The soft sounds of the piano create the ambience of the lounge, which is tucked away on the bottom floor of the hotel to give it a luxurious and private feel. The head chef, Darren Ho, has curated an amazing selection of fine food to complement the impressive beverage list, and we thoroughly enjoyed exploring the array of platters on offer, which are great for sharing.

Overall:
The Piano Lounge would be an amazing venue for after work drinks with clients or a lovely pre-drinks before the theatre or a dinner at the buffet upstairs! We were thoroughly spoilt on our visit, and really enjoyed both the drinks and the delicate and well chosen food to complement our beverages. We’ll definitely be back for more of the amazing anchovies and cheeses!

Note: Khana dined as a guest of The Grace Hotel and The Piano Lounge.
