For a fancy lunch, we decided to head up to Burnt Orange in Chatswood to try their fabulous high tea for two! The high tea has a classic mix of savoury and sweet treats, and we accompanied our food with a pot of chai tea and a coffee. The first tier contained the sweet treats, including an almond friand soaked in a sweet citrus juice that was divine, a refreshing blueberry tart, and a chocolate brownie perfect for those with a sweet tooth! They also sprinkle a house-made museli which is perfectly toasted and so tasty – a great snack.
The second tier had a selection of savoury items, including smoked salmon and pastrami sandwiches, and the highlight of the tower – a lettuce, avocado, feta and tomato ‘san choi bao’ style appetiser, which was so refreshing and light and a great complement to the sweeter dishes. Finally, we finished off with a plain and a healthier blueberry scone made with a touch of wholemeal flour, topped with cream and a house-made berry jam. It was a great afternoon treat and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience!
