For a hearty lunch in our local area, we headed down to Kogarah to 500 Degrees, a new steak and ribs joint right opposite the train station. We were so excited to try their steak, so we ordered the Darling Down 300g rump steak with a side of mashed potato and mushroom sauce. The steak was perfectly cooked to a medium as ordered, and really well seasoned, with plenty of flavour in the meat. The side of mushroom sauce was also really delicious and the mash creamy and rich to cut through the heavier meat.
We also had the Pumpkin and Chickpea salad with grilled chicken, and a side of sweet potato fries. You can order the salads as vegetarian options, or add a range of meats and sides, including chicken, steak and halloumi. The salad itself had roast pumpkin, chickpeas, lettuce, tomato, onion, cucumber and capsicum, topped off with an apple cider vinegar dressing. It was really fresh and tasty, and so healthy and substantial, but the addition of the tangy grilled chicken took it to the next level! There’s definitely something for everyone on the menu at 500 Degrees, and such a great range of steaks, ribs, burgers and salads, so head on down for lunch or dinner and let us know what you think!
Note: Khana dined as a guest of 500 Degrees and Zomato.
