For a Sunday brunch, we ventured to Birchgrove to Charlotte’s Cafe, ready to sample some of their Insta-worthy and delicious brunch dishes! To drink, we started off with the mixed berry smoothie, and the green juice with celery, apple, cucumber and mint. The juice was refreshing and not too sweet, which was great to balance out our delicious brunch. We ordered two dishes to share – the first was the Veg Out, which had an amazing poached eggs, mushroom, avocado, baby spinach, roasted pumpkin and haloumi on sourdough bread. I especially loved the combination of fresh and roasted and cooked elements, and it was a healthy and nutritious start to the day!
We then had the Frenchie, a French Toast with berries, kiwifruit, ricotta and maple syrup. It was beautifully presented, with plenty of colourful fruit to adorn the plate. The toast itself was lovely and crispy without being too dense, and the sweet ricotta added a great balance of richness, which made it a great plate! The cafe has an amazing selection of breakfast, brunch and lunch dishes, and the staff are all so welcoming and friendly and willing to accomodate you. It’s a lovely neighbourhood cafe in such a great area, so head on over and give their amazing dishes a try, and let us know what you think!
